A Laboratory Centrifuge, mostly found in a medical laboratory, is used to spin liquids (like blood) collected in test tubes, as to sperate a liquid into two distinct layers by sedimentation; as in plasma from serum (in the case of blood). It uses centripetal acceleration to do it's work.
